Since 2011, “Summer Run for Fun” has been a staple for Midcoast runners of all ages. Runners of all abilitiies are invited to run in a weekly cross-country challenge this summer at Medomak Valley High School.
“If one wants a mid-week speed workout or just a casual trail run, this is the series to get that,” said George Gould, longtime program organizer.
Participants will gather for weekly runs with the option of completing one, two or three miles. The program, is held at 6 p.m., on Wednesdays: throughout the summer, starting on June 20 and running throught Aug. 8.
The one time fee for the eight-week program is $15.
The Summer Run for Fun will be at the Medomak Valley Neil W. Lash Nature Trail, with participants meeting by the MVHS track.
The trail course has become one of the state’s best as it weaves in and out of the forested area behind Medomak Middle School and MVHS.
