The ladies of Tennis from the CLC YMCA are inviting everyone to join them on Fri., April 9 from 5-7 p.m. for an evening of tennis lessons, laughs and hope. Cinda Holbach, Jane Paterson and Lisa Gilbride will be on hand for the First Annual NAMI Maine Walks Tennis Fundraiser (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
The first 90 minutes will be three courts of lessons.
On Court 1, groundies with Y’s own Tennis Pro Cinda Holbach, Touring Pro and College All American. On Court 2, serves with former Bowdoin College coach and Touring Pro Jane Paterson. On court 3, volleys with CLC YMCA’s own Tennis Director, Lisa Gilbride, who said, “I did some stuff, but so long ago, it was in a long skirt with a wooden racquet, on grass, at Wimbledon…well the wooden racquet part is true.”
Players will rotate every 30 minutes, or may stay on the same court and keep working on those serves.
At the 6:30 mark, the three courts will turn into Cardio Tennis, doubles strategy and singles strategy. Everyone is encouraged to attend for all of it or some of it, showing up is the most import part of this evening.
