The Tigers won the Waldoboro Little League crown Saturday afternoon, with a 7-5 victory over the Panthers. Tiger pitcher Ollie Brown started and went five innings before hitting the maximum pitch count (11K, 4H, 1B, 5R).
Kyle Melanson came on in relief in the 6th (1H, 2K). Relief pitcher Brady Luce took the loss (2I, 1H, 4K, 5B, 4R). Riley McCollett started and went three innings (9K, 4H, 1B, 3R), and Johnny Beckim-Arnold pitched to one batter (1H).
The Tigers scored one run in the bottom of the 1st when Adam Eustler reached on an error and scored on a passed ball. They added two runs in the 3rd. Isaac and Adam Eustler hit back-to-back doubles with Adam driving his brother home. Brown followed with an RBI single.
The Panthers got two runs back in the top of the 4th. McCollett reached on an error, moved over on a Luce fielder’s choice and scored on an error. Luce scored on a Jake Faria single.
The Tigers matched the Panthers two runs in the home half of the 4th. With two outs, Jacob White drew a walk, I. Eustler reached on an error and both came home on an A. Eustler double.
The Panthers came roaring back to tie the score. They scored one run in the 5th on an Eli McCollett double and R. McCollett RBI single. They knotted the score in the top of the 6th with two runs. Channing Soper reached on an error and scored on a Faria single. Faria moved over on a John Rollerson single and scored on a Brett Collamore ground out.
The Tigers rallied for the win in the bottom of the 6th. Ben Dever and Kevin White walked and both scored on a walk-off single to I. Eustler.
Hitting for the Tigers were A. Eustler with 2 doubles, I. Eustler with a double and single, and Brown, and Kyle Melanson a single each. Hitting for the Panthers were Faria 2 singles, E. McCollett a double, and R. McCollett a single.
