The 11th annual Tour de Farms bike ride rolled through Lincoln County on Sunday with 60 pre-registered cyclists. The bikers took off on their own time schedule and pedaled at their own pace to raise funds for the Morris Farm in Wiscasset. The ride’s goal is to bring awareness of area farms.
Cyclists chose loops ranging from the eight mile Family Farm Fun, 20 mile Save the Farm, 50 mile Giddy-up and Go, to the 100 mile Holy Cow loop.
Many cyclists took off in light rain, and finished in hot, muggy weather.
All participants were treated to a barbecue featuring locally grown foods, after the race. Area farms held rest stops for the participants, including Goranson’s, Uncas, Winters Gone and Morning Dew. Historic sites and other farms were identified as points of interest along the routes.
