Registration for the Tour de Farms XVII bicycle ride is now open. The event, hosted by The Morris Farm in Wiscasset, celebrates the land, the farms, and the people that provide local produce to the region. The ride will take place on Saturday Sept. 10, beginning and ending at The Morris Farm, and is for riders of all ages and abilities. A choice of tours — 17, 45, or 65 miles — will wind through the scenic farmland of Midcoast Maine.
Rest stops will be provided, as will courier service for produce purchased at farms along the route. The event will conclude with a local-foods barbecue at The Morris Farm, where friends and family can join riders in celebrating the local foods from farms in the region.
Online registration will be open until 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9, and day-of-ride registrations will also be accepted. For more information and/or to register, go to morrisfarm.org.
