Wiscasset Community Center Unsinkable Swim team members competed in the Bronze meet in Cape Elizabeth on Feb. 20-22.
Miranda Boe (13) was presented the Number #1 Loser Award for cutting 49.66 seconds off her personal best time. Golden Goggles awards went to Boe, Maeve Blodgett, and Ben Milliken for cutting time off all their events. Three swimmers broke WCCU records, Briana Goud in the 200-fly in 3:27.21; Rachel Hanley in the 200-breast in 2:47.91, 200- free in 2:11.98, 400-IM in 5:32.04, 100-free in 58.08 and 200-IM in 2:34.35; and Ross Hanley in the 100-free in 12:03.69.
Several swimmers placed in the top six. Gabby Chapman (10) placed third in the 200-IM and sixth in the 50-back. Brandon Goud (9) placed fourth in the 100-fly. Nicole Jewett (9) won the 200-IM. Kate Laemmle (10) won the 100-fly, was fourth in the 200-free and 50 back and fifth in 50-breast.
Sophia Stafford (9) took second in the 200-IM. Matthew Craig (12) won the 50-free, took second in the 100-breast, 50-fly, 100-IM and 100-free and was fourth in the 50-breast.
Nina Eriksen (11) took sixth in the 200-free and 50-back. Briana Goud (12) won the 200 back and was fourth in 100-fly. Sarah Hanley (12) took second in 100-fly, third 50-fly and fourth 100-free.
Andrew LaCavera (11) was fourth in 100-breast and fifth in 50-breast. Julia West (11) took second in 200-back. Josh Andrews (13) placed fourth in 500-free. Miranda Boe (13) was fifth in 200-breast.
Ryan Hanley (13) won the 100-back, was third in 200-IM, fourth 100-free, fifth 100-fly and sixth 100-free. Olivia Pennington (13) was third in 200-IM and sixth in 100-breast and 200-back. Holly Stegna (13) won the 200-fly was second in 100-fly, fourth in 100- free and fifth in 100-free and 200-IM. Tim George (18) was second in 50-free, and 200-free, and fifth in 200-back, 100-breast, and 100-back.
Rachel Hanley (17) won the 200-IM and was third in 200-breast. Ross Hanley (15) won the 100-back, 50-free, 100-free and 100-free and was second in the 500-free. Peter Huntington (17) won the 200-free, 200-IM, and 500-free, took second in 50-free and 100- free and fourth in 100-back. Dre Kuhnel (16) was third in 200-back, fourth in 100-breast and 100-back, and fifth in 100-free and 50-free. John McLeod (16) was third in 100-free.
