Waldoboro 10&11 Baseball Still Going In D2 Tourney

Waldo 16 – Waldoboro 2Waldo topped Waldoboro 16-2 in four innings on July 7. McKenney collected the win and Richie Sproul took the loss.

Hitting for Waldoboro were Tucker Prescott with a two run inside the park homerun, and Isaac and Adam Eustler with a single each. Hitting for Waldo were Smith with three singles, McKenney a double and single, Phillips two singles and Fuller a single.Knox-Suburban 3 – Waldoboro 1Adam Wilcox collected the win for Knox and Channing Soper took the loss for Waldoboro in a pitcher’s duel that was won on errors in late innings on July 9 in the final round robin game in District 2 play.

Waldoboro scored their lone run in the 6th inning when I. Eustler doubled home Prescott.

Hitting for Waldoboro were Prescott with three singles, I. Eustler a double and single and A. Eustler a single. Hitting for Knox were Cameron Miller with two singles, Lourita a double and Patrick Madden and Tim Winters a single each.Waldoboro 17 – Knox Suburban 11Waldoboro defeated Knox Suburban 17-11 in the first round of the District 2 final four. Waldoboro jumped out to a 14-0 lead and almost had Knox mercy ruled, when sloppy play allowed Knox to get back in the game. Prescott collected the win and Nick Grover the save. Sproul and A. Eustler also pitched middle relief.

Hitting for Waldoboro were I. Eustler with a double and four singles, Brett Collamore a triple and two singles, Patrick White a double and two singles, A. Eustler two doubles, Prescott two singles, Jacob Faria a double, and Soper and Sproul a single each. Hitting for Knox were Kaewthong three singles, Cameron Allaire a triple and single, Max a double and single, and Pat Madden, Ball and Wilcox a single each.Waldo 14 – Waldoboro 0Waldo County 10&11 all-stars shutout Waldoboro Tuesday night 14-0 in four innings. Alex McKenney and Brandon Smith combined in the no-hit shutout win. McKenney (3I,5K,1B,1HP) collected the win, and Brandon Smith (1I,2K,1B) the save.

Nicholas Grover got the start for Waldoboro, and Isaac Eustler and Brett Collamore pitched in relief.

McKenney helped his own cause and drove in half of Waldo’s runs with a two run homerun, a three run double and a run producing single. Also hitting for Waldo were Anthony Fuller with a two run inside the park homerun and single, Emmett Shell with a double and single, and Barret Grant and Colby Trask a single each.
