Waldoboro 9-10 Little League baseball All-stars picked up two wins this week to advance to the District 2 championship game, to be played in Waldoboro on Sun., July 26 at 1:30 p.m.
Waldoboro went on to win 11-3. Hitting for Waldoboro were Lash, Moore and Brown with two singles each and Gilbert and Eustler one each. Knox could only muster three hits off four Waldoboro pitchers, starter Riley McCollett, Lash, Moore and Brown, who combined for 12 strikeouts (5B, 2HP). Hitting for Knox-S were Pat Madden, Nick Winters and Will Davee.
Brown drove in two runs in the 1st and scored to give Waldoboro a 3-1 lead after one. Hoche drew a bases loaded walk in the 3rd inning. McCollette drove in a run with a fielder’s choice in the 4th.
Brown had two hits and scored two runs, Prescott scored two runs and McCollett one for Waldoboro. Hitting for Waldo were Kyle Moore with three singles (1RBI), Colby Trask two singles, Emett Shell a single (2RBI), Brandon Smith a single, Matt Marrero sacrificed a run in the 4th, and Liam Murry-Dumont had an RBI in the 2nd.
