Waldoboro 9&10 Softball Alive In D2 Play

After going 0-4 in District 2 round robin play, Waldoboro 9&10 Little League softball all-stars beat Camden 12-2 by four inning mercy ruling Monday night to stay alive in District 3 play. Gabby DePatsy (5H,2R) collected the win. Emily Long and Megan Gordon gave up seven hits in the loss.

Hitting for Waldoboro were Olivia Sevon three singles (three runs), Cassie Wadsworth two singles, DePatsy two singles and Josie Jameson a single. Amber Studley scored three runs and Kayla Wallace and Maddy White two runs each. Hitting for Camden were Abbey O’Donal two singles, and Audrey Clement, Malea Russell and Emily Long a single each.

Camden 14 – Waldoboro 4Camden topped Waldoboro in round robin play on Saturday in a game that was stopped after three innings because of time constraints. Camden gave Waldoboro a player to start the game until another Waldoboro player showed up late to play. “Camden is a class one team. They have good sportsmanship and a good group of kids and coaches,” coach Dick Wadsworth commented.Rockland 18 – Waldoboro 5Rockland handed Waldoboro an 18-5 loss Tuesday night in the second round of the District 2 playoffs in Rockland. Cassidy Benner and Maddy White pitched in the loss for Waldoboro. Gabby DePatsy and Olivia Sevon collected the only hits for Waldoboro.
