Waldoboro Babe Ruth upset Georges Valley 7-6 in eight innings on June 29 in the Midcoast Babe Ruth quarter-finals. Ryan Creamer started on the mound for Waldoboro, and relief pitcher Wyatt Fillmore collected the win.
Jonah Carlson singled and scored in the first for Georges Valley. Waldoboro came back with two runs in the home half of the first to take the lead. Creamer walked and Duncan Widdecombe singled and both scored on wild pitches. Waldoboro added a run in the third when Travis Wyman reached on a dropped third strike and scored on a Creamer single.
Georges Valley tied the game with two runs in the fourth. Joey Curtis reached on an error and Cole Stevens singled and both scored. They added three runs in the sixth to take the lead with Carlson (single), Stevens (hit by pitch) and Caleb Powell (single) crossing the plate.
Waldoboro came back with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Widdecombe singled and scored on a Jordan Powell single. Powell scored on a Conner Simmons single.
Waldoboro tied the game in the bottom of the seventh when Aidan Starr singled, stole to third and scored on a passed ball. Jake Bickmore scored the game winner in the extra inning when he drew a walk, stole second, went to third and scored on a wild pitches.
