Directions: From Rt. 1 in Waldoboro, drive north past Moody’s Diner and take first right at the Waldoboro First Baptist Church sign. Drive up the driveway and park in the parking area on the left.
The mile long Waldoboro First Baptist Church Trail was built in 2009, by Waldoboro’s Boy Scout Troop, for James Davis’ Eagle Scout project. The church welcomes walkers to enjoy their property.
The trail head is located off of the parking area, behind a picnic table and fire pit, and is marked by a wooden cross carved from a log. Much of the beginning section of the trail is across bog bridging, a favorite of young hikers. The trail winds out behind the soccer field then gently climbs up hill.
The trail comes to an old woods road. Turn left and walk about 50 feet then turn right back onto the narrow trail. The trail then comes to another woods road (mobile home on right) with a rock pile on the right. Turn left onto the woods road for a few feet, then turn right onto the trail (easy to miss). The trail follows a ridge of land then descends down to the lawn and a small pond. Walk across the lawn back to the parking area. The hike takes about 20 minutes.
