Registrations for the 2010 Waldoboro Little League season will take place on Wed.-Thurs., March 17, 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall (Jefferson Street) and on Wed., March 17 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Friendship Village School.
Registrations will also be accepted March 17-26 at the Waldoboro Recreation Department from 8:30-5 p.m.
In addition, parents may register at tryout sessions at the MVHS gym Sat.-Sun., March 27, 28 from 3-7 p.m.
Registration deadline for all levels is Sun., March 28.
At least one parent or legal guardian must present a state certified copy of the child’s birth certificate and three proofs of residence.
Registration is required even if the child played previously. Registration fee is $25. Additional family members receive $5 discount. Scholarships are available.
Players must live within the league boundaries of Waldoboro and Friendship and fall between the designated eligibility birth dates in order to enroll: T-ball (coed) and baseball (May 1, 1997, and April 30, 2005), and for softball (Jan. 1, 1997, and Dec. 31, 2003).
Divisions of play include: T-Ball (5, 6 coed), Minor League (coach and player pitch) softball and baseball (7, 8), Major League softball and baseball (9-12).
Tryouts
To be selected to a Major League Team, all “new” players (ages 9-12) must attend at least one tryout/evaluation session. Players on the Lions, Cougars, Wildcats, Panthers, Bears, Tigers, Fillies, Bobtails or Diamondbacks in 2009 need to register, but not tryout.
This year’s evaluations will be held in the Medomak Valley High School Gym as follows: Girls’ softball – March 27 from 5-7 p.m., and March 28 from 3-5 p.m. at MVHS; and, boys’ baseball – March 27 from 3-5 p.m. and on March 28 from 5-7 p.m. at MVHS.
