Jason Weatherbee hit three homeruns and drove in five runs in Wiscasset’s 14-3 five-inning mercy ruling win over Boothbay on May 11. Ashton Benn collected the win (3I, 4K, 3H, 0B) and Devin Grover (1I, 2H, 1K), Ryan Segovia (3B), and Eddie Stewart (2H, 1K) pitched in relief. Mills took the loss for the Seahawks.
Wiscasset led 12-1 after three innings, before Boothbay added two runs in the top of the 5th inning. Mason Brewer drew a walk in the bottom of the 6th and scored on Weatherbee’s walkoff homerun.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Weatherbee with 3 homeruns (5RBI), Grover 2 hits (1 RBI), Segovia 2 hits (2RBI), and Benn (2RBI), Corey Hodsdon, Stewart, and Brandon Bailey (1RBI) a single each. James Andretta also had an RBI. Hitting for Boothbay were Greenleaf with 3, Murphy 2, Crocker a double and Mills a single.
Segovia reached on an error in the 1st inning, stole second and scored on a Brewer single. Wiscasset scored two runs in the 5th. Brewer reached on an error, Weatherbee was hit by a pitch, Hodgdon hit an RBI single, Stewart walked and Bailey hit an RBI single.
They broke the game open with four runs in the 6th. Andretta and Brewer walked, moved up on a double steal and scored on a Segovia double. Weatherbee was hit by a pitch to set up a two run single to Hodgdon. Wiscasset added two runs in the 7th. Andretta walked, Grover was hit by a pitch, and Segovia and Brewer drove in a run each when they reached on errors.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Brewer and Hodgdon with 2 each, Segovia a double and Bailey a single. Hitting for Monmouth were Goff a double, and Burnham, Fournier and Cummings a single each.
Weatherbee went the distance and struck out 12 for the win (3H, 8B, 1HP).
The Redskins took a 2-0 lead in the 4th. Weatherbee hit a double, Stewart and Bailey walked to load up the bases for a two-run single to pinch hitter Zach Ellison.
The Buccaneers knotted the score with two runs in the 5th when Townsend reached on an error, Matthews walked, and Knight drove in a run with a single and Tarbox a run on fielder’s choice.
Wiscasset rallied for three runs in the 7th to win. Benn singled, and with two outs, Brewer hit an RBI single. Weatherbee was intentionally walked, and both he and Brewer came home on a Hodgdon double.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Benn with 2 singles, Weatherbee and Hodgdon a double each, and Segovia, Brewer and Andretta a single each. Hitting for the Bucs were Knight, Matthews and Tarbox a single each.
St.Dom’s took a 2-0 lead, scoring a run in the 1st and one in the 6th on a solo homerun to Theriault. Wiscasset rallied for 6 runs in the 6th to win. Zach Ellison and Ashton Benn walked to set up a three run homerun from Ryan Segovia. Brewer singled, Jason Weatherbee and Corey Hodgdon walked to load up the bases for a two run single to Eddie Stewart. Hodgdon scored on a passed ball.
