Whitefield softball defeated Vassalboro 5-1 on June 11 to win their second straight Sheepscot Valley Athletic Conference championship. Mia Northrup collected the win, and Emma Fortin took the loss.
Kat Thornton drove in two runs with two singles, Northrup hit a triple and single. Hannah Huff added a RBI double and Kiley Lee a RBI single. Hailey Audio plated a run when she was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Fortin had the only hit for Vassalboro with a second inning triple, and scored the only run on a fielder’s choice from Abby Dunton.
