WHS Girls Fall to Cobras and Saints

Carrabec 48 – Wiscasset 22

Carrabec held Wiscasset girls’ basketball team to single digits in all four quarters in their 48-22 win on Dec. 30. Scoring for Carrabec were Aliena Stoddard 16, Melissa White 12, Kara Hebert 4, Mackenzie Weese 4 and Becca Bergeron, Courtney Turner, Sikwani Dana, Raki Kaelan, Carrisa Borker and Marrisa Murray 2 each. Scoring for Wiscasset were Elegance Hartwick 10 (6R), Abby Austin 4, Alli Johnson 3 (2R,2S), Maryellen True 3 (4R), Heather McRae 1 (4R,1S) and Becca Slack 1.

St. Dom’s 55 – Wiscasset 36

Wiscasset girls’ basketball team played their best 16 minutes of the year at home against St.Doms Tuesday night in 1st half action.

The Redskins took a 10-9 lead at the quarter, then found themselves down 9 in the 2nd frame. Wiscasset scrambled back, scoring the final six points of the half to cut the lead to three by halftime, 22-19. Maryellen True settled two from the foul line, and Abi Austin and Becca Slack scored in the rally.

Allaina Murphy took over for the Saints in 2nd half action, scoring 13 of her game-high 24 points to help St.Doms put the game away. The Saints limited Wiscasset to seven points in the 3rd quarter, while pumping in 20.

Scoring for Wiscasset were True 15, (13R,2S,1B,1A), Alli Johnson 9 (2R,1S,2A), Kayla Connors 4 (8R,1A), Elegance Hartwick 4 (6R,1B,1A), Abi Austin 2 (4R,1S,1A), Slack 2, Heather McRae (7R,1A) and Ali Preble (2R,1S,2A). Scoring for St.Doms were Murphy 24 (4R,6S), Morgan Brown 8 (9R), Sarah Gossellin 7, Julia Richardson 5 (2R,4S), Carolyn Joseph 4, Mary Caron 2, Olivia Cluff 2, Elise Applegate 2 (2R,6S), and Amy Kasabian 1.
