Wiscasset softball are off to a tough start, opening their MVC season with two losses. The Lady Redskins opened at home on April 23 with an 18-11 slugfest loss to Livermore Falls, then were shut out by Dirigo on Monday, 19-0.
Livermore plated six runs in the 5th. Wiscasset scrambled back with four runs to knot the score 9-9. Teel and Footer singled, Robbins reached on an error, Smith and Pinkham singled, Emily Patterson walked and Johnson hit a sacrifice.
The Andies blew the game open with a nine run 6th inning.
Pinkham took the loss (5K,11H,5B), and Townsend collected the win (11H, 6K,4B).
Hitting for Wiscasset were Teel with 3 singles, Footer, Johnson and Carson 2 singles each, and Smith and Pinkham one each. Hitting for Livermore were Lake with 2 doubles and a single, Welch and Tracy 2 singles each, and Greenwood, Freeman and Robbins a single each.
Paige Teel hit a 4th inning single to spoil the no-hitter.
