Wiscasset And Stonescape Advance To Finals

Wiscasset defeated Miles Memorial 69-53, and Stonescape topped Mid-Knight Auto 69-65 in semifinals of the Waldoboro First Baptist Church Men’s Basketball League Monday night to advance to the championship game. The final game will be on Mon., March 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Stonescape 69 – Midknight 65Fourth seed Stonescape (9-3) jumped out to a 21 point lead over Mid-Knight Auto (10-2), before the top seed rallied to pull within five with a minute to go. Stonescape made 7 of 10 foul shots in the final minute to pull off an upset victory over Mid-Knight.

Scoring for Stonescape were Mike Geisler 31, Kurt Snyder 11, Dante Ravelli 10, Brad Scott 5, Monte Haynes 5, Blake Nichols 4 and Chris Fernald 3. Scoring for Miles were Ben Teal 19 (3-3’s), Chris Howell 13 (6R), Derec Verney 13 (3-3’s), Jake Oliver 5, and Ryan McNally 1 (5R).
