Wiscasset baseball defeated Monmouth 5-4 Wednesday in Wiscasset. Tyler Bailey went the distance in the win (9K,5H,0B). Wiscasset led 5-1 after three innings, before the Mustangs scored three runs on three errors and a single to Tom Small in the third. Bailey and Nick Sanborn pitched three scoreless innings each. Monmouth threatened in the top of the seventh when runners reached on two errors. Bailey fanned the final batter to get out of the jam and pick up the win.
Wiscasset softball lost to Monmouth 21-1 on May 20. Stephanie Jones had an RBI single scored Lindsay Jordan in the third inning to spoil the shutout. Monmouth was led by Carol Bonenbont with a homerun, double and single, and T. Day with a double and 3 singles.
