The Wiscasset boys tennis team picked up a pair of wins this week to improve their record to 7-3 and move them up to sixth place in the West Class C heal points.
Wiscasset 3 – St. Doms 2
Wiscasset defeated St. Doms 3-2 on May 20. Nate Panarese lost to Chris Laverdire in three sets with a tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7 (9-11) at first singles. Tom Anderson swept Mike Blaich 6-0,6-0 at second singles. Logan Grover lost 5-7,4-6 in a close match with Jeff Ahlquist. Andrew Walton and Ethan James teamed up to beat Matt Boulet and Cam Jalbert 6-4,6-3 at first doubles. Ridge Barnes and Kevin Lynch topped Elliot Hachey and Cliff Greco 6-4,6-1 at second doubles.
Wiscasset 3 – Spruce Mountain 2
The Wolverines nipped the Phoenix 3-2 on May 21. Panarese lost 4-10 to David Stone. Anderson beat Mike Paradis 10-5, and Grover topped Jacob Luce 11-9 in singles action. Walton and James lost 8-10 to Nick Guild and Trevor Dorion, and Barnes and Lynch beat Chris Davenport and Nick Cerullo 10-1 in doubles action.
