Wiscasset boys’ soccer team picked up their ninth win of the season to move to first place in West Class C. Lisbon’s defense kept the Redskins explosive offense in check for much of the game. Tyler Sonia scored the game’s only goal three minutes into the contest on a through ball from John McLeod to lift Wiscasset to a 1-0 victory over the Greyhounds.
Mason Brewer earned the shutout with four saves. Shane Tanquay had eight stops in net for Lisbon.
Less than a minute later Danny Murphy put a header off the cross bar. John McLeod scored on a through pass by Hanley with 23:08 to go in the game.
Wiscasset held a 14-4 edge in shots. The Redskins defense did not surrender a single shot in second half action. Mason Brewer made four saves for Wiscasset and Ben Caron nine saves for Georges Valley
