St. Dom 43 – Wiscasset 38
Wiscasset and St. Dom’s girls basketball teams battled every step of the way on Jan. 29, with the Saints coming out on top 43-38. The Wolverines led 11-10 at the quarter and 24-22 at the half on a late basket from Alecia Faulkingham.
At the end of three, the game was tied 32-32.
Scoring for Wiscasset were Kayla Gordon 9, Faulkingham 8, Colleen Hendricks 8, Tylan Onorato 5, Haylee Craig 5, and Gabby Chapman 3. Scoring for the Saints were Faith Grady 22, Allie Veniote 12, Chloe Dwinnell 5, Carolin Gastonguay 2, and Olivia Mayo 2.
Boothbay 70 – Wiscasset 33
Boothbay girls defeated Wiscasset 70-33 on Jan. 26 in Wiscasset. The Wolverines stayed with the Seahawks in first quarter action, when the game “was blown wide open in the last 45 seconds of the first quarter by a couple of hotly contested (Morgan) Crocker three-pointers,” coach Patrick Quinn said.
Crocker led the Seahawk charge with 27 points, followed by Cagney O’Brien 16, Sara Durgan 11, Angie Perkins 6, Page Brown 6, and Kate Friant 4. Scoring for Wiscasset were Faulkingham 14, Gordon 12, Onorato 4, and Hendricks 3.
