Wiscasset girls soccer team defeated Boothbay 9-0 in Wiscasset’s Homecoming on Saturday to pick up their third straight win. Seven different Wiscasset players scored in the win. Wiscasset improved to 5-2-1 with the win.
The Lady Wolverines scored four goals in the first six minutes of play to put the game away early. Briana Goud scored the first goal with 38:37 to go in the half, then Sarah Hanley, Kasey Cromwell and Miranda McIntire scored, all unassisted.
Brooke Carleton scored on a Hanley feed. Katie Mills found net on a pass from Colleen Hendricks with eight minutes to go in the half, then scored again two minutes later unassisted. Maeve Carlson and Hanley added second-half goals.
Michaela Trudeau earned the shutout in net for Wiscasset with three saves. Jamie Wheeler had seven saves for the Seahawks.
Wiscasset held a 23-6 edge in shots.
The Wolverines scored three first half goals. Shania Marr scored the first 11 minutes in to the contest. Cromwell scored the second, and Hanley the third on a feed from Marr. Cromwell breached Winthrop’s net on a penalty kick less than three minutes into the second half, then scored unassisted three minutes later. McIntire headed in a corner kick from Hanley, and Carleton wrapped up the scoring for Wiscasset with 12:30 to go in the game.
Winthrop’s Shie Smith spoiled the shutout with 5:50 to play.
Wiscasset held a 51-3 advantage in shots. Michaela Trudeau made two saves for the Wolverines, and Hayley Choate 13 for the Ramblers.
