Wiscasset Meet Goes On Despite Weather

Rain didn’t stop a Mt. Valley Conference track meet at Wiscasset on May 17. Winthrop boys and girls won the five-team meet. Winthrop girls scored 112, Livermore Falls 104, Hall-Dale 96, Boothbay 67, Jay 66 and Wiscasset 43. Winthrop boys scored 157, Hall-Dale 114, Boothbay 103, Livermore 65, Wiscasset 61 and Jay 18.

Samantha Sutter won the discus (72’4″) and was 2nd in the shot (26’2″). Kelsey Hammond took 3rd in the shot (23’5″). Kristen Cavanaugh was 3rd in the high jump (4’4″) and Becca Slack was 5th (4’2″). Crysta Brown took 4th in the 1600 in 7:00. Alyssa Urquhart was 5th in the racewalk in 12:13 and 6th in the 1600 in 8:15. Morgan Dodge was 5th in the 100 in 14.7. Kyle Shute was 2nd in the racewalk in 9:36 and Logan Grover was 3rd in 10:15. Ryan Hanley took 2nd in the 300 hurdles in 52.3. Joe Chapman placed 3rd in the 200 in 25.3 and long jump (17’11.75″). Ross Hanley was 4th in the 200 in 25.8.
