Wiscasset Top Of Pack In Babe Ruth Seeding

Wiscasset 14 – Rockport 4Wiscasset Ford defeated Rockport Automotive 14-4 by six inning mercy ruling on July 3. Chandler Longfellow hit a three run double in the bottom of the 6th to end the game early. The win gives Wiscasset the top seed in the Babe Ruth tournament.

Eddie Stewart started and pitched five innings (5H, 2R). Longfellow closed out the 6th inning.

Hitting for Wiscasset were Longfellow with 2 doubles (5RBI), Dylan MacMahan a double and 2 singles, Cody Graves 3 singles, and Stewart a double (2RBI). Hitting for Rockport were Filderman a double and single, Schiefer 2 singles, and Gimlewicz, a double. Belfast 4 – Damariscotta 3Damariscotta and Belfast battled through six scoreless innings, before both teams plated three runs in the 7th to force extra innings. Roman broke the stalemate with a RBI single in the bottom of the 9th to lift Belfast to a 4-3 victory.

AJ Oliver pitched six scoreless innings (11K, 2B, 1H) in a classic pitchers’ duel with Benner. Spencer Alden took the loss for Damariscotta, who wrapped up their season with a 6-5-1 record.

Oliver and Alden had a single each for Damariscotta; Roman and Dinsmore a single each for Belfast. Wiscasset 8 – Waldoboro 3Five Wiscasset pitchers combined in their 8-3 win over Waldoboro. Chandler Longfellow started (2I, 0R, 2K, 1B), and Cody Graves (2I, 1K, 1H, 1R), Travis Padilla (1I, 2K), Goran Johanson (1I, 2K, 1B), and Nate Mills (1I, 3H, 2B, 2R) pitched in relief. Ryan Ripley and Jackson Vail pitched in the loss.
