Wiscasset Parks and Recreation track team members had a good outing at the Maine USA Track & Field 15 and under state championships Aug. 12 at Massabesic High School.
Josie Harrinton won the girls 13-14 high jump, clearing the bar at 4’10”. The boys 11-12 4×100 team placed first in 1:02.58 with David Winchenbach, Tate Whitmore, Payton Blagdon, and Jayden Lafrenaye running a leg. The same four boys placed second in the 4×400 relay in 5:09.59.
Charlotte Abello placed second in the 100 in 16.8, third in the 200 in 36.52, and eighth in the long jump (8’1”) in the girls 8 and under division. Eva Whitmore placed fifth in the high jump (2’8”) for 8 and under girls.
Hannah Abello took 10th in the 400 in 1:27 for 9-10 girls. Jayden Lafrenaye took ninth for 11-12 boys in the high jump (3’10”). David Winchenbach placed 14th in the triple jump (24’6.5”) for 11-12 boys.
