Wiscasset High School announced their winter sports awards this week.
Swimming awards were presented to Heather Hodgdon (Coaches Award), Rachel Hanley (MVP), Andreas Kuhnel (Coaches Award), Brandon Campbell (Most Improved) and Tim George (MVP). Hanley and George made the MVC All-Academic list.
Girls’ basketball awards were presented to Maryellen True (Best Offensive Player), Heather McRae (Best Defensive Player), and Ali Preble (Coaches Award). Melissa Tilas and Lindsey Applebee were selected to MVC all-Academic all-stars.
JV girls’ basketball awards were presented to Carolyn Footer (Best Defensive Player), Elegance Hartwick (Coaches Award) and Paige Teel (Most Improved).
Boys’ basketball awards were presented to Nick Hinkley (Leadership Award), Alex Slack (Master Charge Award), Sumner Averill (Coaches Award), Jason Dennison (Competitor Award), Josh Sonia (Most Improved), and Josh Hopkins (6th Man Award).
Hinkley and Dennison were selected to the MVC 1st Team, and Hopkins and Cody Griffin were named MVC Honorable Mention.
Hinkley, Slack, Averill and Brad Richardson were honored for making the Mt.Valley Conference all-Academic list. JV boys’ basketball awards were presented to Cory Hodgdon (Most Improved) and Jordan Jones (Coaches Award).
Cheering awards were presented to Laura Preble (Coaches Award), Alicia Young (Most Improved) and Morgan Dodge (MVP).
