Yarmouth girls tennis defeated Lincoln Academy 4-1 in a South Class B quarter-final match on Sat., June 3 in Newcastle. Maine’s number one singles player Lana Mavor defeated Emily Harris 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. Clementine Blaschke topped Sandra Thelander 6-3, 6-2 at second singles. Lady Eagle Polina Scimone picked up the lone win for Lincoln, in three sets and two tie breakers. Scimone beat Lexi Caterine 4-6, 7-6 (TB), 7-6 (TB). May Halm and Kate Peters fell 6-0, 6-4 to Maureen O’Neill and Lisa Tchitbhka at first doubles. Anastaiya Oliver and Ellie Mathews lost 6-2, 6-2 to Celia Clarke and Daly McGrath at second doubles.
