The Kefauver Studio & Gallery, at 144 Bristol Road in Damariscotta, is calling for artists to participate in its “Monhegan Days” art show, running from Sept. 15 through Oct. 9. This show will depict the views, the architecture, and the charm of Monhegan Island, so submitted works should be in keeping with that theme. Each submitted work must be an original creation, and all mediums will be considered, including oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, gouache, photographs, sculpture, and hand-pulled prints. All work must be ready for hanging or displaying, with framed or painted edges, wired for hanging with no sawtooth hangers. Pedestals are available for three-dimensional work.
Several artists will be selected to present up to five works at the show. To enter, submit up to five works in jpg form via email to email@example.com. The deadline for submission is Monday, Aug. 28.
The artist may price the work as he or she likes, but the work should be priced reasonably for sale. No “NFS” works will be accepted. All sales and sales taxes will be handled by the gallery, as will shipping, if necessary. The gallery commission is 35 percent. An artists reception, open to the public, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
