Help Yourself Shelf Time Adjustment on Apr. 13
Thursday, April 13 is Maundy Thursday — Last Supper day. It is also pantry day at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church’s Help Yourself Shelf. The church meets in the same space as the Help Yourself Shelf holds it pantry on that day. Help Yourself Shelf and the church fathers believe it is important to honor both the needs of area people for food aid and the church’s Holy Week service, scheduled for 6 p.m.
Waldo Theatre Survey Results In
In January, February, and March, the Waldo Theatre Board of Directors conducted an online survey to help chart a course for the historic building’s future and received more than 175 responses. The Waldoboro theater has been closed since 2014 and requires significant physical repairs before it can reopen. An entirely new board of directors took on the task of revitalizing the building and the organization in July 2016.
DMR Aquaculture Public Scoping Session
On April 13 at 6 p.m. at the Newcastle Fire Department, 86 River Road, Newcastle, Pemaquid Oyster Co. Inc. and the Maine Department of Marine Resources will hold a public scoping session on a proposed aquaculture lease application to raise American/Eastern oysters on a site off Goose Ledges, Damariscotta River, Newcastle and Damariscotta.
Pet Pantry Hours
The pet pantry is open from 9-11 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, next on April 4. Its mission is to assist people who, due to their economic circumstances, may be having trouble buying food for their cat or dog.

The Eat Soup With Nuts Mah Jongg Group played on March 23 in Waldoboro. High scorers were Cat Crozier, of Pemaquid, and Betsy Marr, of Bristol.
Child Care at Chocolate Fest
Chocolate Fest 2017 is for the whole family. Teens ages 13 and up are welcome to attend the event, April 1 from 7-10 p.m. Younger children are welcome to visit the child care for the event at the Bristol Congregational Church, just down the street from The 1812 Farm. There is no charge for child care.
Solar Energy Forum in Waldoboro
The Waldoboro Renewable Energy Group, a subcommittee of the town’s Economic Development Committee, is hosting an informational meeting on the potential for solar energy as a renewable source to power the town’s buildings, residences, and commercial enterprises. The meeting will be held in the meeting room at the town hall on Route 1 in Waldoboro on Tuesday, April 4 from 6-8 p.m.

The meeting, scheduled for Thursday, March 23 at 4:30 p.m., will take place in Skidompha Public Library’s Porter Meeting Hall.

Wiscasset Ambulance Service has been designated as a Maine HeartSafe Community. The Maine HeartSafe Community program is a cooperative initiative of the Maine Emergency Medical Services office and the Maine Cardiovascular Health Council.
