Historical Society OKs Plan to Restore Pemaquid Mill
Recommendations for preservation of the mill at Pemaquid Falls and for use of the building as a museum have been drafted by a seven-member subcommittee of volunteers with varied professional expertise and accepted by the board of the Old Bristol Historical Society at its meeting last week.

Ecumenical Food Pantry Thanksgiving Baskets
Again this year, through the generosity of many donors and the efforts of many volunteers, the Ecumenical Food Pantry in Newcastle will once again be packing and distributing Thanksgiving food baskets to families in 10 surrounding towns.
Medication Disposal Day is Oct. 26
On Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, along with the police departments of Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, Waldoboro, and Wiscasset, will host the semiannual Drug Take Back Day.
Legion Auxiliary Bottle Drive
The Waldoboro Legion Auxiliary is holding a bottle drive and collecting food items for holiday dinner baskets for veterans.
Fall Shred Event is Oct. 26 in Newcastle
The Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce will host a shred event and food drive at Lincoln County Publishing Co. in Newcastle on Saturday, Oct. 26. The event is open to all community members as well as chamber members.
Boothbay Region Lions Club News
The Boothbay Region Lions Club met for a regular meeting on Oct. 9. The club hosted a Lions Club zone meeting attended by several members from the Nobleboro and Damariscotta-Newcastle clubs. These two clubs, as well as the Boothbay Region Lions Club, reported various activities members have been involved in over the past few months.

There will be an automatic-aid, live-training burn of the Pemaquid Beach Pavilion on Sunday, Oct. 20 with setup at 7 a.m. VIP Maine Mobile will be offering food and coffee. Offsite parking is recommended.

With only a few months left in 2019, Lincoln County Publishing Co. is already working on its summer publications for next summer, including Lincoln County Magazine and the lobster and lighthouse guidebooks.
Round Top Season Closer to Give Proceeds to Benefit CHIP, Stepping Stone
Tuesday, Oct. 15 will be the last day of the 2019 season for the Round Top Ice Cream stand in Damariscotta. In keeping with custom, the entire proceeds of the day will be given to local charities. This year, the Community Housing Improvement Project and Stepping Stone Housing will benefit.

Maine Gleaning Network Announces 2019 Maine Gleaning Week
The Maine Gleaning Network, a coalition of groups across the state of Maine working with local farms to collect surplus produce and distribute it to people experiencing food insecurity, announces Maine Gleaning Week, Oct. 9-16. This year, Maine Gleaning Week events will focus on community building and celebrating the vital role of volunteers in this effort.
