CMP Website Down
The Central Maine Power Website is down at the time of this posting and no estimate is available for when it may return to service, according to a dispatcher at Central Maine Power. The large number of power outages during the first storm of the winter season may have increased traffic to the website to an untenable level, causing the site to crash, but CMP personnel were not sure if website traffic caused the problem, or if there were other issues. The CMP website allows viewers, including news media, to track the location and number of outages. The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
