NWS Issues Blizzard Watch Beginning Sat. Evening
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch well ahead of a storm forecast to bring a nasty combination of heavy snowfall and high winds to Lincoln County beginning Saturday evening and continuing through Sunday evening. While the area has experienced unusually frequent winter storms this season, the upcoming event is forecast to have a notably significant impact, especially with the snowfall accumulation already on the ground.
Thousands of Gallons of Heating Oil Pumped Into Septic at Medomak Middle School

The leach field at Medomak Middle School will be dug up and replaced in the coming weeks after over 2000 gallons of heating oil were mistakenly pumped into the school’s septic system on Feb. 4, according to Regional School Unit 40 officials.

Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Thursday Snowfall
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in advance of snowfall forecast to affect Lincoln County on Thursday. This weather event will be relatively mild compared with the recent parade of storms that have pummeled the area, according to forecasters. Snow should arrive in the overnight hours of Wednesday and continue to fall through the mid-day hours of Thursday, leaving 3 to 6 inches of accumulation, according to forecasts.
Edgecomb House Still Livable after Quick Response Contains Fire
An improperly installed wood stove at 687 Boothbay Rd. in Edgecomb was the source of a potential structure fire Saturday, Feb. 21. Tightly packed plaster and the quick response of mutual aid prevented flames in a basement crawl space from encompassing the house, Edgecomb Fire Chief Roy Potter said.
