Edgecomb School Committee Requests 2.4 Percent Budget Increase
The Edgecomb School Committee submitted a budget of approximately $2.15 million to the budget committee Monday, March 9. Despite the previously stated hopes for a decrease in the school budget, Eddy School’s budget for the 2015-2016 fiscal year is a 2.4 percent increase from the previous year.

Edgecomb Man Indicted on Child Abuse Charges
An Edgecomb man has been indicted on charges of aggravated assault, a class B felony; and domestic violence assault on a child less than six years old, a class C felony, for allegedly striking a 20-month-old toddler in the face and pulling his arm, causing broken bones.

Wiscasset Man to Serve Five Years for Heroin Trafficking
A Wiscasset man pleaded guilty to two charges stemming from a long-term Maine Drug Enforcement Agency investigation into heroin trafficking on Friday, March 27. Nathan Brewer, 27, pleaded guilty to aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs, a class A felony; and illegal importation of scheduled drugs, a class C felony.
