The Edgecomb School Committee submitted a budget of approximately $2.15 million to the budget committee Monday, March 9. Despite the previously stated hopes for a decrease in the school budget, Eddy School’s budget for the 2015-2016 fiscal year is a 2.4 percent increase from the previous year.

AccidentMarch 3, Joel Verrecchia, 30, of Friendship, pulled the 2009 Ford utility vehicle he was operating out of the Irving parking lot, into the northbound lane of the Atlantic Highway where he was struck on driver’s side by a 2005 Chevrolet sedan operated by Pamela Meserve, 72, of Damariscotta around 5:34 a.m. Meserve’s car was forced into the southbound lane where it came to rest. Officer John Lash investigated.

A Wiscasset man pleaded guilty to two charges stemming from a long-term Maine Drug Enforcement Agency investigation into heroin trafficking on Friday, March 27. Nathan Brewer, 27, pleaded guilty to aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs, a class A felony; and illegal importation of scheduled drugs, a class C felony.
