In the final minutes of the Tuesday, Dec. 2 Lincoln County Board of Commissioners meeting, a vote was taken on the sheriff’s office budget for 2015. A budget of $2,724,898 was unanimously approved, resolving one of the final outstanding items in the county budget.

Wild Things concert reviewOn Sunday afternoon, Nov. 23 at The Second Congregational Church in Newcastle, the audience became a part of the Wild Things concert. In that hour, time seemed to stand still – conch, tuba, organ, flutes, violin, clarinet, piano, French horn, percussion, bass, and choir gave musical voice to all the animals on earth.

Volunteer mentors in Lincoln County are helping rehabilitate young offenders with restorative rather than punitive justice.

Restorative justice offers a conceptual framework for understanding harm to relationships and steps that move toward repairing the harm and healing the relationships, according to the Restorative Justice Project of the Midcoast website.
