Wiscasset Grad Joins Wiscasset Family Medicine
Mary Rafter, a 1999 graduate of Wiscasset High School will begin work at Wiscasset Family Medicine as a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner. “It’s like a dream come true. I always knew I wanted to come back to work in the community that was so nourishing to me. I am excited to help nurture the health of this community,” Rafter said.

Calendar Change Behind Somerville’s Mil Rate Increase
Somerville’s new mil rate of $22.50 per $1000 valuation appears to be up significantly over last year, but the increase is mostly due to an 18-month budget period to get the town on a July to June fiscal year, according to Selectman Chair Susan Greer.
Apparent Electrical Fire Guts Nobleboro Home
An accidental malfunction of the electrical system in the home at 9 Chickering Rd. in Nobleboro appears to be the cause of the fire, which gutted the building on Sept. 16, according to Sgt. Ken Grimes of the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Emily Jean Crider and Logan Kensell Krah, United States Marine Corps, were joined in marriage on August 10. The wedding and reception were held at the home of Eric and Darci Harrington, aunt and uncle of the bride.

When young Jarrett Pinkham rode his bicycle down to the shoreline of the Sheepscot River, on Westport Island, Saturday morning, Aug. 24, he didn’t know he was about to find a safe that had been stolen from Bristol’s historical Colonial Pemaquid site on Aug. 17 or 18.

Ruth Etheridge of Village Travel in Round Pond has recently returned from a vacation in Ireland. After arriving in Dublin, she went north to Letterkenny and Churchill located in the County Donegal in northwest Ireland.
