Two days after the high winds generated by Hurricane Sandy blasted through Lincoln County, every town in Lincoln County still has power outages, according to Central Maine Power (CMP).
NWS Upgrades Alert for Hurricane Sandy
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a High Wind Warning for Lincoln County in regard to Hurricane Sandy, upgrading the alert status from a High Wind Watch. Easterly winds with a sustained velocity of 30 to 40 mph and gusts to 60 mph are presently forecast for Lincoln County, with the strongest winds expected Monday afternoon and into the night, according to the NWS.
Accident in Waldoboro Closes Rt. 1 for Several Hours
A motor vehicle went off the Rt. 1 in the vicinity of Moose Crossing Garden Center in Waldoboro and snapped a utility pole in two before the vehicle burst into flames around 2:30 this afternoon.
