Animals Seized From Whitefield Farm
Following the seizure of 23 animals from his Whitefield farm, Robert “Cisco” Barnes, 56, failed to show how those animals have been receiving adequate care, according to Judge Daniel Billings.

Lincoln County Farmers Consider Food Labeling
A movement to require the labeling of foods grown with the use of genetically modified organisms is gaining traction in Maine, after the widely-publicized failure last November, of a labeling bill in California. The bill was defeated 52 percent to 48 percent, with opponents of labeling outspending advocates 10-1.

A Winter Storm Watch issued on Sunday by the National Weather Service (NWS) was withdrawn on Monday afternoon for the Lincoln County area. Areas south of Lincoln County, beginning in Cumberland County and extending south into northern Massachusetts are presently under a Winter Storm Warning for Monday night and Tuesday.
Earthquake Rattles Lincoln County
An earthquake registering 2.4 on the Richter scale hit Lincoln County at approximately 1:20 p.m. on January 14, according to Tod Hartung of the Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency (LCEMA) and other sources.
Damariscotta’s Transfer Station Bill Up
