Power should be restored to all Lincoln County households by Saturday evening, according to Central Maine Power. Some 652 homes in Lincoln County were affected by the outages, and that number was down to 32 at 5 p.m., according to CMP. The majority of those outages were in the Boothbay Harbor area, according to CMP. The Blizzard Warning that had been issued by the National Weather Service has been withdrawn and replaced by a Special Weather Statement advising motorists to beware of reduced visibility and slick roads due to blowing snow.

Lincoln County Farmers Consider Food Labeling
A movement to require the labeling of foods grown with the use of genetically modified organisms is gaining traction in Maine, after the widely-publicized failure last November, of a labeling bill in California. The bill was defeated 52 percent to 48 percent, with opponents of labeling outspending advocates 10-1.
