At a regular meeting of the Lincoln County Commissioners Feb. 15, Wiscasset resident Bill Phinney asked for additional “transparent information” for a Freedom of Access Act request he sent to the Board on Jan. 25.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Lincoln County in regard to a storm forecast to chug through the area beginning in the early morning hours of Tuesday. Snowfall accumulations have been forecast at 3 to 5 inches by the NWS, but local broadcast forecasters are giving a more conservative estimate of 1 to 3 inches.

Good news… The National Weather Service (NWS) has downgraded a Winter Storm Watch to a Winter Weather Advisory in regard to a weather front expected to visit Lincoln County from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. Bad news… The storm should still bring a wide range of precipitation types as it passes through, according to forecasts.

A 21-year-old Topsham man was found hanging inside his cell at Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset Feb. 28 in what the State Medical Examiner’s Office has determined to be an apparent suicide.
