Associated Grocers of Maine (AGM), a central Maine-based food distributor serving over 300 grocery and convenience stores, was placed into receivership April 26, leaving some local store owners scrambling to find new distributors and keep their shelves stocked, while consumers were left to wonder about the fate of their favorite local grocery stores.
$27,500 Proposed Increase In RSU 12 Budget
At a special budget meeting held April 28 at the Whitefield Elementary School, the RSU 12 Board of Directors passed a motion for a .11 percent increase in the fiscal year 2012-13 school budget.

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On April 30, Sgt. Jason Nein took a report of a theft of a water fountain in the Edgecomb area. The complainant stated he last saw the fountain on April 21 and discovered it missing on April 27. The item is described as a fisherman shaped fountain with a large pump system attached. It is approximately 3 feet tall and 30 inches in diameter. It is valued at approximately $750. Further investigation if new leads develop.
