Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On April 30, Sgt. Jason Nein took a report of a theft of a water fountain in the Edgecomb area. The complainant stated he last saw the fountain on April 21 and discovered it missing on April 27. The item is described as a fisherman shaped fountain with a large pump system attached. It is approximately 3 feet tall and 30 inches in diameter. It is valued at approximately $750. Further investigation if new leads develop.
April 29, James W. Oliver, 44, of Nobleboro was arrested on several warrants, on Vannah Road, Nobleboro, by Deputy Chad Gilbert and Sgt. Brendan Kane.
April 30, Brenda Russell, 56, of Boothbay Harbor was arrested for Aggravated Assault, on Liberty Street, Newcastle, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
April 30, Andrea Riseman, 33, of Freeport was arrested for operating under the influence – no test, on Rt. 1, Newcastle, by Deputy Justin Drake.
May 1, Dustin R. Bibber, 22, of Boothbay Harbor was arrested on two outstanding warrants out of Wiscasset, on Butler Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Brian Collamore.
On April 27, an accident occurred on Ocean Point Road in Boothbay involving Thomas H. Brown, 16, of East Boothbay. Brown was operating his 2002 Volkswagen Golf south on Ocean Point Road. When he came around a corner, he observed a vehicle in the middle of the road. He then entered the southbound ditch to avoid the vehicle, where he struck several mailboxes before coming to rest. The unidentified vehicle in the middle of the road then left the scene. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On May 2, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Jane M. Spofford, 77, of Boothbay and Christopher H. Hilton, 26, of Boothbay Harbor. Spofford was operating a 2002 Saturn, and was stopped behind Hilton’s 2006 Ford F150 pickup truck on the Wiscasset Road. Both vehicles were stopped due to road construction. Spofford reached for an item in her vehicle and it appears her foot slipped from the brake to the gas, causing her vehicle to strike Hilton’s truck in the rear end. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On May 2, an accident occurred on Barters Island Road in Boothbay involving Noah D. Harris, 18, of Boothbay and Ashleeann Lowery, 27, of Trevett. Harris was following Lowery’s vehicle south on Barters Island Road. Lowery stopped her 2003 Chevrolet K1500 at the stop sign at the intersection with Corey Lane. Harris stopped his 2000 Ford Taurus behind her vehicle. Harris advised he believed Lowery was going to turn left and started to move forward and struck Lowery’s vehicle in the rear end. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
