Point East Developer Avoids Auction With Eleventh Hour Payment
National Resources, the development firm behind the proposed Maritime Village waterfront community in Wiscasset, avoided an auction of three parcels of land with a last minute loan payment to the town on Dec. 2.
No Decision On Harbor House Appeal
The Newcastle Board of Appeals met Dec. 22 to hear an appeal by Stetson House, LLC of the Newcastle Planning Board decision to grant conditional approval to the Newcastle Harbor House project.
Storm Cancellations
The Lincoln County Commissioners have postponed a planned business meeting from Dec. 27 to Tues., Dec. 28 at 1 p.m.
Also due to weather, the Newcastle Board of Selectmen have cancelled their board meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 27. It has not been rescheduled as of this posting.

Numerous Power Outrages in Wiscasset as Overnight Storm Brings Heavy Rain and High Winds
Many areas of Wiscasset are without power at the time of this posting (9:21 p.m.) according to Central Maine Power (CMP) as high winds and heavy rainfall slammed into Lincoln County, gaining strength shortly after nightfall. Small areas of Boothbay and Dresden have also suffered power outages, according to CMP.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to a total of 51 weather-related motor vehicle incidents during the Dec. 6 snowstorm.

A US District Court Judge ruled in favor of the Town of Waldoboro in a lawsuit filed by the parents of a Whitefield teenager fatally shot by a Waldoboro police officer three years ago.
Waldoboro Selectmen Move Closer To Methadone Moratorium
At their meeting on Dec. 14, the Waldoboro Board of Selectmen approved a special town meeting to be held Jan. 11 to decide whether to place six-month moratoriums on methadone clinics and medical marijuana dispensaries.

Breaking News – Firefighters Contain Structure Fire In Nobleboro
Firefighters cleared the scene of a structure fire at 418 Center Street in Nobleboro today around 10:30 a.m. The Nobleboro Fire Department responded with mutual aid support from Damariscotta and Newcastle shortly after 9 a.m. Center Street was briefly closed while firefighters contained the blaze.
Pemaquid Beach To Host Olde Bristol Days
A Dec. 15 decision by the Bristol Board of Selectmen to permit an encampment at Colonial Pemaquid will result in “most” Olde Bristol Days events moving to Pemaquid Beach, Bristol Town Administrator Kristine Poland said.
Overnight Storm Brings Warnings for Heavy Rain and High Winds
Light rainfall began mid-day on Sunday in Lincoln County, heralding the arrival of an overnight storm that should bring heavy rainfall, high winds and the possibility of power outages overnight, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). A Flood Watch and High Wind Warning first issued on Saturday remain in effect until Monday morning, according to the NWS.
