The programs department at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset is pleased to have made a second donation of afghans, small quilts and teddy bears to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland. The sewing class and crochet class have been hard at work creating items to donate.

Firefighters from six departments responded to a structure fire at the home of longtime Wiscasset residents William and Sheryl Thayer on Sept 30. A passing motorist noticed the ranch style house at 302 Foye Rd. engulfed in flames and called 911 around 1:10 p.m.
