Breaking News — Accident Closes Rt. 27 in Edgecomb
First responders from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and the Edgecomb Fire Dept. are presently on the scene of a traffic accident at the Eddy Rd. and Rt. 27 in Edegcomb.
Officials have closed Rt. 27 near the Eddy Rd. in order to facilitate assistance to the accident victims and conduct an investigation, and there is no estimate as to when the road may re-open.

A Damariscotta physician told the town selectmen Wednesday that poor nutrition and lack of activity could cause many members of the current generation of children to die before their parents.
Dr. Tim Goltz, the town’s health officer said during a 20-minute presentation, that studies show 33 percent of Maine’s children and 61.5 percent of adults are overweight.
