RSU 12 Board Works On Next Year’s Budget, Asks State To Keep Promise
Sheepscot Valley Regional School Unit 12 Superintendent Greg Potter presented an approach to tackling the fiscal year 2011 education budget during the Thursday night Board of Directors meeting in the Whitefield Elementary School gymnasium. Board members also unanimously approved sending a resolution to the State asking for the promise of 55 percent funding under the 2005 enacted LD 1 legislation.
Maple Syrup Time In Lincoln County
Native American legends say a chief came home one evening and stuck his tomahawk in a maple tree. The next day, he pulled it out and went hunting. Sap started running down the tree into a container of some sort.

Bristol Voters Reject Move To Eliminate Highway Department
On Monday, Bristol voters rejected a move to eliminate the town’s highway department – and its only employee.
Town meeting voters cast 331 votes to keep the department while just 47 voted to eliminate it.

Waldoboro Assault Suspect Turns Himself In
A man wanted by the Waldoboro Police Dept. turned himself in to the Knox Sheriffs Office Monday. Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy John Palmer took Christopher Benner, 34, into custody without incident around 10:30 a.m., according to a press release issued by the Waldoboro Police Dept.
