Coastal Car Wash and Detail Center, of Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor, will celebrate its customers with an event at the Boothbay Harbor location Saturday, June 2. The event is free to attend and all are welcome.
Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Restoration Festival is May 26
The alewives are running and festivities are planned to celebrate this awesome natural event and the restoration of the stone fish ladder, which the fish climb to spawn in fresh water Damariscotta Lake. This year’s festival – one day only – will be held on Saturday, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The festival may be only one day this year, but what a day it will be! As always, the fish will be the main event — it will be possible to view alewives by the fish house, along the fish ladder, in the Williams backyard, and at the top of the ladder.

Rock the Harbor Coming up in June
The Olde Bristol Days fundraising committee is thrilled to announce the fourth annual Rock the Harbor event hosted by The Contented Sole restaurant in New Harbor on Saturday, June 9 from 5-10 p.m. This year’s entertainment will include Tickle, a popular dance band from Portland, and a local favorite, Delta Knights.
Free Youth Fishing Event on the Lake
On Saturday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Midcoast Conservancy will host the annual Hooked on Fishing event, when kids get out on the water and experience the fun of fishing. Children of all experience levels are welcome; each child gets an hour of fishing in prime fishing spots on Damariscotta Lake with experienced volunteer boaters as their personal guides. Mentors will be onshore to assist young anglers with equipment and to answer their questions about fishing.
Clamshell Quilters Auction, Sale
Clamshell Quilters Guild will hold an auction and sale on Monday, June 11 at the Faith Baptist Church, 144 Mills Road, Newcastle. Doors will open for previewing items on offer at 4:30 p.m. Meredith Fossett will conduct the sale starting at 5:30 p.m. sharp.
Spring Native Plant Walk on May 31
Join Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District and Heather McCargo, founder and director of the Wild Seed Project, for a late spring wildflower and native plant walk on Thursday, May 31 from 10-11:30 a.m. through the woods along the Goose River in Camden. The trail begins at the river’s headwaters, winding through hemlock and beech, gradually transitioning to a woodland dominated by oak and pine with an understory of common witch hazel, maple leaf viburnum, and hobblebush.

Spring Fest and Baby Goats at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm
Pumpkin Vine Family Farm in Somerville is bursting with new life, and people are invited to join in as the farm kicks off its market season on Sunday, May 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a celebration of spring. For those who haven’t had a chance to hug a baby goat yet, there is more than enough loving energy to go around. The farm has 16 kids so far, and is only halfway through kidding!
‘Before the Flood’ at GSB
The GSB Environmental Club will be hosting the film “Before the Flood” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 20 in the gymnasium of Great Salt Bay Community School, 559 Main St., Damariscotta. It will be followed by an open discussion. Admission is free and there will be free refreshments. Donations will be gratefully accepted.
Waldoboro Memorial Day Parade
The Waldoboro Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony will take place Monday, May 28, rain or shine, beginning promptly at 9 a.m., with the parade lineup at 8 a.m. at the Waldoboro town municipal parking lot.
Coastal Christian School Benefit Auction
On Saturday, May 26 at 2 p.m., Coastal Christian School in Waldoboro will hold a benefit auction to raise funds to complete its gymnasium/theater. The auction will be held on the grounds of Chat & Chow Takeout in Warren, at the junction of Route 1 and Route 90. The rain date will be Monday, May 28.
Lincoln County Publishing Co. to Host Summer Open House
Lincoln County Publishing Co., 116 Mills Road, Newcastle, invites the community to an open house at 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 27. The event is free to attend and open to all.
