Benefit Concert for Alice Skiff
On Saturday, April 1, a night of music to benefit Alice Skiff will be held at Mobius Inc., 319 Main St., Damariscotta. Alice is a seventh-grader at Great Salt Bay Community School who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Proceeds from the event will go to the Skiff family to help with medical costs.
Dodgeball Tournament in Bristol
On Saturday, March 25, Bristol Consolidated School will host a dodgeball tournament from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. People are encouraged to get a team together to help raise funds for the 2017 Merritt Brackett Lobster Boat Races.
Aprils Fool’s Day Dance Party in Jefferson
One does not have to come up with a foolish dance for this event, but if a person does, she or he could win $50! Jason Simonds and the Wicked Blues Band is teaming up with Damariscotta Lake Farm Restaurant to throw an April Fool’s Day dance party on Saturday, April 1.
Illustrated Talk on License Plates in Boothbay
On Sunday, March 19 at 2 p.m., Boothbay Railway Village will present a talk titled “A Moving History: An Illustrated Talk on License Plates from Maine and Around the World,” by license-plate historian, author, and collector Tim Stentiford.

Haddock Chowder and Sandwich Luncheon in Bristol
The Congregational Church of Bristol will hold a haddock chowder and sandwich luncheon at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 11. The menu will consist of homemade haddock chowder and a sandwich with one’s choice of one of three different fillings. The meal will be served with a beverage and a homemade dessert. The cost is $8 per plate.
Morning Dew Farm Speaker at Garden Club
The next meeting of the Old Bristol Garden Club will be held on Thursday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the Second Congregational Church, 51 Main St., Newcastle. Following a short business discussion, Newcastle resident Brady Hatch will present a program on Morning Dew Farm in Newcastle.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
The fourth annual Shrove Tuesday, or Fat Tuesday, pancake supper will be held at the Second Congregational Church, UCC in Newcastle on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall. Shrove Tuesday is the last day of Mardi Gras, and the last day before Lent.
Silent Auction at Food Pantry Supper
Members of the public are invited to a silent auction and pasta supper from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Meenahga Grange, 860 Main St., Waldoboro.
Tickets on Sale for Steelgraves Magic Show
Markus and Angelique Steelgrave have brought wonder and excitement to millions of people throughout New England and beyond. The Steelgraves will make a rare Maine public appearance at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 4 in the gymnasium at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle as a benefit for Jefferson Village School’s Blessings in a Backpack program.
