Benefit Pasta Dinner for Food Pantry

The days are getting longer and the cold is getting stronger. Heating bills are gnawing away at family budgets. Members of the public are invited to please help out and come to a benefit pasta supper for the Waldoboro Food Pantry from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Meenahga Grange, 860 Main St., Waldoboro.

Steelgraves Magic Show at LA on March 4

Markus and Angelique Steelgrave have brought wonder and excitement to millions of people throughout New England and beyond. The Steelgraves will make a rare Maine public appearance at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 4 in the gymnasium at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle as a benefit for Jefferson Village School’s Blessings in a Backpack program.

Midwinter Beekeeping Workshop at Morris Farm

The Knox Lincoln County Beekeepers group will hold its midwinter workshop on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon. It will be at the Morris Farm, 156 Gardiner Road, Wiscasset. Morning refreshments and coffee will be provided by the group. There is no cost, but donations are accepted. Refreshment donations also accepted.

Winter Gospel Sing in Waldoboro

The days may be getting a little longer and the weather so far hasn’t kept people homebound day after day, but most people could likely still use an afternoon together at a good old-fashioned gospel sing.

Babysitter Training Course for Ages 11-14

The skills and techniques necessary to be a responsible, competent, and fun babysitter will be taught in a one-day class offered by Central Lincoln County Adult Education from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23.

Sean Fleming Plays Love Songs at Lincoln Home

Popular local pianist Sean Fleming will come to The Lincoln Home in Newcastle for a one-hour concert and sing-along featuring love songs on Monday, Feb. 13, from 3-4 p.m. Members of the public are invited to this free pre-Valentine’s Day event.

Midcoast Conservancy Offers Two Great Maine Outdoor Weekend Events

People are encouraged to get outside this weekend to enjoy some wintry fun with Midcoast Conservancy. Two events are scheduled as part of the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend: a Winter Skills Day in Liberty on Friday, Feb. 3, and a Fat Bike Demo Day at Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson on Sunday, Feb. 5.

DNA Is Topic of Skidompha Genealogy Club’s February Meeting

Skidompha Public Library in Damariscotta hosts a free monthly Genealogy Club that welcomes family history researchers of all levels of expertise. February’s Genealogy Club topic is “You’ve Received Your DNA Results — Now What?”

Benefit Supper to Help Rebuild Bailey Home

A community potluck benefit supper will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, from 5-7 p.m., to help rebuild the home of Merrill and Shirley Bailey, which was destroyed by fire. The benefit supper, organized by the First Baptist Church of Nobleboro, will be held in the gymnasium of Nobleboro Central School, 194 Center St., Nobleboro.

Wild & Scenic Film Festival in Damariscotta

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival comes to Damariscotta on Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 7 and 9. It is being brought to the big screen at Lincoln Theater by the Damariscotta River Association. A different collection of short films will be shown each night from 7-9 p.m.

DRA Offers Midcoast Stewards Program

For those with a passion for conservation, the Damariscotta River Association is offering a unique overview of natural-resource topics and stewardship-related activities along the Midcoast of Maine. Coordinated by the DRA and maintained through partnerships with many area conservation organizations and state agencies, the Midcoast Stewards program offers participants the opportunity to learn about natural and cultural history from a number of professionals in natural-resource management fields, as well as an invitation to serve local conservation organizations as a volunteer.
