Aaron “Teddy” Willey Jr., 73, of Newcastle, passed away at his home on the evening of May 29. Born in Damariscotta on Oct. 7, 1942, he was the son of Aaron Sr. and Virginia (Shattuck) Willey.
Janice Newell Long
Janice Newell Long, 81, passed at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough on June 5 after a severe stroke. She was born in Boothbay Harbor, the daughter of Maurice and Lillian (Lewis) Newell, on Oct. 23, 1934.
Gordon William (“Bill”) Bowman
Gordon William (“Bill”) Bowman, son of Gordon Lewis Bowman and Agnes Raye (“Raysie”) Kelch, and brother of Jan and Bruce Bowman, passed away peacefully in Damariscotta, a few days short of his 88th birthday, on May 31. He was raised in New Harbor and attended Lincoln Academy for one year, Gould Academy for the rest of high school, and graduated from the University of Florida with a major in industrial engineering.

Johanna Ludwig Weston, 84, of Walpole, passed away on the evening of June 3, at the Assisted Living Facility of Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta.
Barbara E. Hedden
Barbara E. Hedden, 92, of Brentwood, N.H., passed away May 29 in Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood. Barbara was born in Waldoboro on Oct. 4, 1923, a daughter of the late Blaine H. and Margaret (Orff) Swift. Barbara was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the WAVES during WWII as a Pharmacist’s Mate. She worked as a nurse for most of her life.

Norman H. Freiberger, 89, of Mt. Vernon, transitioned peacefully from earth to heaven on May 11, surrounded by his loving family. A long-time baritone singer for his church choir, he is a great addition to the heavenly chorus.
Dr. Stella Clifford Gray
Dr. Stella Clifford Gray, 96, of East Boothbay, died peacefully on May 31 at the Lincoln Home, with loving family by her side. Stella was born on Dec. 4, 1919 to Dr. Harold Burton Clifford and Gladys Mower Clifford, in St. Albans. She grew up in Boothbay Harbor, where her father was the Superintendent of Schools from 1925 to 1956.

Charles MacLaury Farley, 93, of Schooner Cove in Damariscotta, passed away on the morning of May 27 after a short illness.
Eleanor “Punky” Prescott Adams
Eleanor “Punky” Prescott Adams, 87, passed away on May 25 with loving family at her side. Punky was born on June 11, 1928 in Passaic, N.J. to Eleanor Brewer Prescott and James Lewis Prescott. She had one older brother, James Lewis Prescott Jr., whom she loved dearly.
