Sara Lee Browne passed away on March 7 in Melbourne, Fla. after a brief illness. Known to her friends and family as Dee, she was born on June 17, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minn., daughter of Cmdr. O.J. and Katherine Martyn.

Dennis C. Gaecklein, 52, passed away peacefully on March 4 with his loving family by his side, surrounded by love. Dennis was born on March 19, 1963 in Boothbay Harbor to Charles Hasson and Nancy Hasson Gaecklein. He and his sister were later adopted by David Gaecklein, and raised by David and Nancy in Boothbay Harbor. He attended local schools and graduated from the Boothbay Region High School, Class of 1982.
Donald Lee “Don” Rand
Donald Lee “Don” Rand, 71, of Waldoboro, died March 12 at home. He was born Aug. 14, 1944 in Glendale, Cal. to Elmer F. Rand and Gwendolyn Y. Dunn. Don grew up in California and graduated from Burbank High School in 1961. He then attended the Chouinard Art Institute and obtained a BS in 1966.
Harold Alton Collamore
Harold Alton Collamore, 93, passed away in Damariscotta on Feb. 29. Harold was the son of Frank and Roseltha (Prior) Collamore, born Feb. 10, 1923 in Bremen. He married Frances Poland on April 13, 1945 in Bremen.
Joanne “Babb” Finley
Joanne “Babb” Finley, of Windsor, was called home surrounded by her loving family on March 6. She was born on Nov. 9, 1938 in Augusta, the daughter of the late Jenny and Lawrence Babb.
Bill Pacy
Bill Pacy, 87, devoted father, lacrosse coach, passionate sailor, entrepreneur who built Frontier Town in Ocean City, Md., and developer who worked to revitalize downtown Baltimore, died of natural causes March 5 in Naples, Fla. He was visiting, hoping to regain strength after a year of hospitalizations, and return to his home in Waldoboro.
James S. Townsend
James S. Townsend, 86, of Boothbay, died unexpectedly on March 3 at his home. Born in Falmouth on May 3, 1929, he was the son of John and Elsie Townsend. He grew up in Edgecomb and attended local schools.
Robert V. Gorman
Robert V. Gorman, 92, died March 6 at the Sussman House in Rockport. He was born Aug. 20, 1923 in Buffalo, N.Y. to Michael and Mary Corrigan Gorman. Bob grew up in Buffalo and attended local Catholic schools. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. After the war Bob graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo.
Maurice Louis “Lou” Simmons
Maurice Louis “Lou” Simmons, 82, died March 5 at the Captain Lewis Residence in Farmingdale. He was born in Friendship on May 26, 1933 to Maurice Calvin and Edna Simmons.
Linda Dale Clark
Linda Dale Clark passed away peacefully on the morning of March 8 at the Legacy Memory Care Facility in Falmouth. Born in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 26, 1942 to Neal and Suzanne (Farnsworth) Dale, she spent summers in Christmas Cove for many years.

Dorothy Wright Davis, known to many as “Alden,” died peacefully on March 1 in Eugene, Ore. Her husband and her three children were with her. Alden would have turned 90 on July 29.

Capt. Chester “Chet” I. Hopkins III, 75, of Damariscotta, passed away on the morning of March 10 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Born on Jan. 15, 1941 in Melrose, Mass., he was the son of Mabel and Chester Hopkins Jr.
