Harold Alton Collamore, 93, passed away in Damariscotta on Feb. 29. Harold was the son of Frank and Roseltha (Prior) Collamore, born Feb. 10, 1923 in Bremen. He married Frances Poland on April 13, 1945 in Bremen.
Harold began lobstering at a young age. He joined the Army, serving three years during WWII in the Infantry in Germany. After the Army he began boatbuilding until his retirement in 1987. He loved to go dancing and while young he played the guitar and sang. After retirement he enjoyed being outdoors and maintaining his property.
He is predeceased by his parents; wife, Frances; brother, Wilson Collamore; son, James Collamore; nephew, Wilson Rexford Collamore; and niece, Norma Kyndell.
Harold is survived by his son, Chester Collamore of Machias; daughter, Eunice Gray and husband Bruce of Bremen; son, Brian Collamore and wife Shelly of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Toby Harris of Bremen, Todd Harris of Bremen, Norman Collamore of Friendship, Brandon Demmons of Rockland, Bryce Collamore of Mississippi, Brett Collamore of Appleton, Corey Poland of Damariscotta, Bobbie McGraw of Newcastle, and Holly Foster of Appleton; niece, Kathleen O’Brien of Bremen; sister-in-law, Bridget Collamore of Bremen; and several great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held later this spring.
